Kasmir Jolma has acted as the Tampere Local Agent of the Finnish Association of Architects (SAFA) since early 2019. He is the owner of the Jolma Arkkitehdit architecture firm whose foundation was based on a competition victory. Jolma also teaches construction architects in the Tampere University of Applied Sciences.
Jolma is used to taking part in architecture events and organisational work. To name a few, he has participated in organising the Architecture and Cities in Transition (ACT) main seminar of the Tampere design and architecture week event since 2016 as well as the YIMBY and Arkkitehti yrittäjänä (“Architect as an entrepreneur”) seminars in Tampere.
Jolma has written about architecture and architecture firms for the Finnish Architectural Review magazine and the Arkkitehtiuutiset (architect news) newsletter, among others. Jolma has also provided strategy and communications-related training for architect firms in the events of the Association of Finnish Architects’ Offices, the Changing Shape of Architectural Practices seminar in Denmark and as part of the Executive MBA training programme of the real estate and construction sector.
Kasmir Jolma’s ambitious goal is to give Tampere its own architecture centre. The centre would act as an exhibition and event venue for architecture and design as well as a platform for young architects to experiment on.
