Tampere bid book for European Capital of Culture 2026, pre-selection stage

“We’re applying for the ECoC title, because we want to introduce to Europe a cultural project especially pertinent to its future — grounded in equality as a key driver for social change. We seek to promote equality through cultural sustainability – meaning the shared production of values through human activities. We’ll use culture and the arts to build resilience and agility for the global challenges around us.”

This is how we say in our bid book for European Capital of Culture 2026. Clicking the link below you can read the whole bid book (pdf-version). This is the bid book for pre-selection stage. This bid book was completed in May 2020.

The international panel chose Tampere to continue from the pre-selection stage. The second bid book will be written in spring 2021.
